The preliminary results of the Algeria Bid Round 2024 were announced by the National Agency for the Valorisation of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) during the official session held in Algiers on Tuesday, 17 June 2025.
This is Algeria’s first hydrocarbons licensing round since 2014 and the first under Hydrocarbon Law No. 19-13, which reintroduces PSCs and broadens contractual options to enhance investment attractiveness (for further details on the bid, please refer to our dedicated newsletter: https://loucif.law/en/oil-gas-algeria-bid-round-2024/
The bid round covered six onshore gas blocks, five of which were awarded, with the objective of ultimately adding an average of 20 billion cubic meters per year.
